LAVA:  Igneous Process

Our workshop includes instruction in handstands, tumbling, partner acrobatics, improvisation, and movement composition.  Igneous rock is liquid rock; its new and unique expressions explode and flow to the surface of the earth in the same way that this exploration of movement and choreography will flow and explode within the studio space.  The workshop is led by LAVA founder Sarah East Johnson and other LAVA company members.  Participants of all genders and at all levels are invited to explore the physical training and creative processes of LAVA’s feminist acrobatic dance within an environment that is respectful, positive, and unpretentious. $5 to $15 sliding scale.
